Upgraded Module: Hand Signals
The Hand Signals module is now fully hands-on. A colleague demonstrates each signal, then holds the pose as a live reference while the trainee performs it in real time, coached for correct execution — building genuine muscle memory and recall in the moment.
Recognizing and Performing – Part 1
- Trainees learn to recognize and perform 13 core hand signals, with per-signal coaching and common-mistake corrections.
- Covers signals for attention and command, forward and backward movement, turning, lifting and lowering, distance, and stopping.
Recognizing and Performing – Part 2
- Trainees learn to recognize and perform 14 advanced hand signals, again with per-signal coaching and corrections.
- Covers signals for chocks and stabilizers, power and engine control, brakes, equipment and ground-power connection, and pushback coordination.
Performing Exam
- A new hands-on exam: trainees perform 10 randomly selected signals from the full set, with a colleague in front of them for reference.
- Graded scoring rewards genuine recall — +1 for a signal performed unaided, +0.5 with help, 0 if skipped — and 8 out of 10 is required to pass.

Further Improvements — VR App
- Pushback (Towbar): Live Operations — based on customer feedback: the pass score across the pushback lessons was lowered from 85% to 80% to match the standard exam pass mark; the towbar coupling sequence in Preparing the Pushback was refined so the towbar wheels are lifted only after the front coupling is confirmed; a parking-brake indicator light and a rotating beacon light step were added to the Executing the Pushback lessons for greater realism, with end-position braking corrected to use only the foot brake; and the repeated error explanation in the Left Turn lesson was shortened on retries.
- Power Stow Basics — reworked the demonstration so the loading head is only shown during loading, and corrected how the flex ramp is displayed and explained.
- Module cleanup — retired the Driving collection module.
- Reduced application download size — the app now takes up less space and is faster to download and update.
