Belt Loader: At the Aircraft

Driving Training

• Introduces trainees to driving the belt loader including start/stop, steering, braking and reverse driving.
• Teaches and tests readiness to brake quickly.
• Introduces a clear 3-step parking process (neutral → brake → ignition off).

Approaching the Aircraft

• Pre-aircraft approach checks of apron and aircraft anti collision beacon.
• Teaches correct route selection around the wing (never under).
• Requires mandatory brake check before entering ERA.
• Short accident simulation illustrates the risk of skipping the mandatory brake test.
• Teaches correct interpretation of guide-person hand signals: early recognition, correct response to standard hand signals; stop on command.
• Safe handling of apron hazards (tractor, baggage carts, personnel) with clear coaching prompts.
• Path adherence with automatic rewind and optional driving assistance after errors.
• Teaches controlled speed and precise approach angle; avoid excessive tilt and maintain line to stand.
• Final park only on OK signal; neutral and parking brake for a clean handover at the cargo hold.

GPU: Equipment 101

Basics

• Guided Point-of-interest walkthrough of the GPU (structure, cable/plug, touchscreen, fuel, drawbar) with floor-marker navigation and voice over labels.
• Includes short animation of an NPC demonstrating power cable handling.

Controls

• Introduces the core physical buttons of the GPU: Ignition, Engine, Power Output, Emergency Stop, what each does and when to use it.
• Shows the touchscreen equivalents and how the screen indicators work (engine voltage, supplied power, aircraft powered/not powered, fuel & AdBlue levels, auto-shutoff timer, and key status indicators).
• Explanation and showcase of the GPU starting sequence (Ignition → Engine → Power Output with cable connected), the "cable pulled" scenario and the Emergency Stop.

Walkaround

• Guided tour of 14 essential checks before use: surroundings clear; drawbar stowed; general equipment condition; FOD; chocks; tires; fluid leaks; power cable stowage; plug condition; ignition response; control panel condition; fuel & AdBlue; engine start; and normal indicators.
• Hands-on fault-finding with 7 planted issues; an on-screen counter tracks progress and helpful arrows can be revealed if needed.

Exam

• Assessment of all knowledge learned during the GPU: Equipment 101 lessons through an intuitive UI with 15 multiple choice questions (pass = 12/15).
• Questions include GPU role, cable storage, emergency stop behavior, safe startup sequence, and walkaround purpose.

Major Updates

• Belt Loader Elevation: Enhanced two-button UX interaction (deadman switch + action). Incorporates clearer voice-over/text-over, larger grip zone, holo-hand guidance.

Further Changes

• New skybox across released scenes for cleaner, more realistic apron lighting and horizon.
• Top 3 takeaways added to each lesson's start modal for faster orientation.
• Changed position of drawbar of non-attached baggage carts on the apron — drawbar now in a lifted position as required by safety standards
• Implemented "reveal next problem" helper for Walkaround lessons to avoid trainees getting stuck
• Added guidance note to part 1 of Belt Loader Walkaround that only listening is required
• The trainee is now mostly in a standing position to mirror the real world better
• Added success sound in practice modes of the Belt Loader Guardrails lesson
• Fixed empty fuel gauge and zero machine hours in Belt Loader Controls lesson
• Multiple text and localization improvements
