Highlights

  • Upgrades and additions to the Pushback (Towbar) course: upgraded driving with faster steering response, haptic steering feedback, and critical error feedback; redesigned level structure and scoring system; new lesson "Driving Exam" assessing pushback driving competence with auditable results
  • New training module "Power Stow: At the Aircraft": four new lessons (Positioning & Departure, Unloading, Loading, Exam) covering realistic loading and unloading operations
  • New training module "Hand Signals": three new lessons (Recognizing Part 1, Recognizing Part 2, Recognizing Exam) training recognition of common IATA ground handling hand signals
  • Updated Headset Communication — Complete Pushback (Advanced) lesson: reduced guidance for better assessment of procedural competence
  • Improved Trainer Hub: updated Courses & Lessons page, redesigned dashboard with activity graph and certificate visibility
  • Trainer Hub available in five additional languages: German, Dutch, Spanish, French and Greek

Updated Module: Pushback (Towbar) Driving Training

Improved Lesson: Driving Practice

  • More realistic steering feel: haptic controller feedback and increased steering speed allow for faster steering adjustments during pushback, giving trainees an even more realistic and intuitive sense of the pushback dynamics.
  • Redesigned progression from six levels to four (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert) providing a cleaner, more motivating path from guided to fully manual pushback.
  • Redesigned scoring system grades on driving behaviour (pushback smoothness and steering control) and target accuracy (final positioning of the aircraft and tractor); trainees who exceed steering limits now receive a critical error, reinforcing the consequences of wrong driving decisions.

New Lesson: Driving Exam

  • A practical driving exam covering three pushback scenarios — a left curve, a right curve, and a dogleg — all in full manual mode without further guidance.
  • Evaluates driving behaviour and final positioning; a score of at least 85/100 is required per scenario, and all three must be passed.
  • Confirms that trainees can execute precise, unassisted pushback maneuvers to a real-world standard, with each attempt fully logged for auditable exam results.

New Module: Power Stow: At the Aircraft

Positioning & Departure

  • Teaches positioning the belt loader with a Power Stow Rollertrack Conveyor at the cargo hold, following the guide person's hand signals precisely throughout the multi-step approach sequence.
  • Teaches lowering the Power Stow Rollertrack Conveyor onto the cargo hold floor, continuing until the auto-level system fully engages.
  • Covers the departure procedure: lifting the Power Stow Rollertrack Conveyor clear, reversing, then fully lowering the conveyor belt and departing.

Unloading

  • Trains deploying the Power Stow Rollertrack Conveyor inside the cargo hold.
  • Covers correct baggage placement on the roller track and unloading speed to prevent baggage tangling at the curve.
  • Teaches repositioning the Power Stow Rollertrack Conveyor using the movement handles to access baggage in different areas of the hold.

Loading

  • Focuses on starting the Power Stow Rollertrack Conveyor and setting the correct belt speed for loading operations.
  • Develops the skill of receiving incoming baggage from the belt and stowing it correctly inside the cargo hold, including at elevated positions.
  • Closes with stopping the Power Stow Rollertrack Conveyor and fully retracting it to the transport position once loading is complete.

Exam

  • A 10-question exam (pass: 8/10) spanning all Power Stow: At the Aircraft lessons.
  • Questions test understanding of positioning and departure sequences, auto-level engagement, conveyor speed during unloading, and height adjustment when loading at elevated positions.
  • Confirms overall competence in safe Power Stow Rollertrack Conveyor operation from arrival at the aircraft through to departure.

New Course: Hand Signals

Recognizing Hand Signals: Part 1

  • Introduces the first set of 8 IATA-standard ground handling hand signals, from "Attract Attention & Take Command" through to "Stop", with each signal demonstrated and explained in context.
  • Covers the meaning and correct application of each signal, building the recognition skills needed to respond accurately under real apron conditions.
  • Signals covered: Forward Movement, Backward Movement, Turn right, Turn left, Lift, Lower, Indicate Distance, Stop

Recognizing Hand Signals: Part 2

  • Extends hand signal knowledge with a second set of 18 hand signals, including "OK", "Chocks Inserted/Removed", "Stop Engine", and pushback coordination signals.
  • Puts special focus on pushback-specific signals — "Clear to Push", "Brakes On/Off", and "Change of Pushback Direction" — and the coordination roles they play.
  • Signals covered: OK, Negative, Chocks Inserted & Stabilizers On, Chocks Removed & Stabilizers Off, Interrupt Power Source, Stop Engine, Connect, Connect Ground Power, Disconnect, Disconnect Ground Power, Brakes On, Brakes Off, Interphone, Air Up, Slow Down, Clear to Push, Connect to Towbar, Change of Pushback Direction

Recognizing Hand Signals: Exam

  • A 10-question exam (pass: 8/10) drawing from all 24 hand signals covered in Parts 1 and 2.
  • Confirms that trainees can reliably identify all learned IATA-standard hand signals by sight.
