New Module: Pushback (Towbar): Driving Training
Introduction
- Establishes the mechanical basis of pushback steering, demonstrating how tractor steering inputs affect the towbar and aircraft.
- Demonstrates a complete professional pushback maneuver and simulates the consequences of aggressive over-correction, including towbar and nose gear damage.
Driving Practice
- Trains pushback driving through six progressive levels from fully guided to fully manual, covering left curve, right curve, and dogleg scenarios.
- Each attempt is scored on path accuracy, target positioning, and independent driving (pass mark: 85/100 per level). Only once the trainee completes the final level of fully manual driving will the trainee be passed on this lesson.
- Optimized for VR controllers with a complete steering wheel-free experience, making high-quality training accessible, scalable, and easy to deploy across environments.
- This lesson is expected to be trained many times depending on the talent of the trainee. Some trainees might take several dozen attempts at this lesson to become proficient.
New Lessons in "Headset Communication"
Complete Pushback Operations
- Teaches the complete pushback procedure as the headset master, from pre-pushback checks and ATC approval through active pushback coordination to final towbar removal and all-clear signal.
Speaking Practice — Guided
Note: this lesson requires an active internet connection for speech recognition.
- Introduces advanced speech recognition to train the complete pushback communication sequence, from radio check through to final disconnect.
- Trainees practice all standard headset master pushback phrases with a virtual practice partner simulating the cockpit crew, with the correct phrase displayed on screen throughout — allowing full focus on exact wording and pronunciation.
- Advanced speech recognition evaluates correct use of standard phraseology and pronunciation in real time, providing immediate feedback on each phrase.
Speaking Practice — Advanced
Note: this lesson requires an active internet connection for speech recognition.
- Challenges trainees to deliver all pushback phrases from memory in a full operational scenario, concluding with the all-clear sequence for aircraft taxi.
- Advanced speech recognition evaluates correct use of standard phraseology and pronunciation in real time, providing immediate feedback on each phrase.
New Course: Aircraft Arrival
- Consolidates the "Ramp Safety" and "Chocking & Coning" modules into a single course covering the complete aircraft arrival process, from approach through to chocking and coning at the stand.
- Exam updated with revised questions aligned to the new course structure.
New Recurrent Training: Ramp Agent
- Spans four GSE types (Belt Loader, Tractor, GPU, Towable Stairs), combining seven existing lessons with two new exams, to provide experienced ramp agents with an appropriate recurrent training module.
- Lessons included: Belt Loader Walkaround, Belt Loader Approaching the Aircraft, Belt Loader Positioning at the Cargo Hold, Tractor Driving Training, Tractor Towing Carts on the Apron, GPU Remove Power, Towable Stairs Operating at the Aircraft.
Theoretical Exam
- A 20-question exam (pass: 16/20) confirming theoretical knowledge of safety rules, equipment principles, and procedures across all four GSE types.
Practical Exam
- A 20-question exam (pass: 16/20) confirming trainee readiness to apply correct operational sequences and make safe decisions across all four GSE types.
New Main Menu Navigation
- The redesigned main menu groups modules into Courses, Recurrent Trainings, and Collections for clearer navigation and progress tracking.
Further Improvements — VR App
- Headset Communication Exam: trainees can select whether pushback standard phraseology is shown in English or their system language
- Shared accounts: simultaneous logins with the same username are blocked where detectable; where not possible, both sessions continue without disrupting progress
- Passthrough mode: activates automatically during login, headset swap, and lesson breaks
- Offline login: progress is saved locally and synced once connectivity is restored. Requires a one-time online login to activate.
- French & Greek: the Draxon app is now available in two new languages
- Several bug fixes and localization updates
LMS / Trainer Portal
- VR login credentials: Trainers and Admins can now view VR Username and VR PIN directly in the Trainee list.
- Certificates for "Headset Communication" and "Aircraft Arrival" issued on completion of all associated lessons.
- New "Certificates" tab for Trainers and Admins showing all issued certificates for easy overview, sharing and download.
- Link to "Trainer Guides" accessible via the sidebar.
- Several bug fixes and smaller improvements.
