Who is the walkaround training designed for?
It is built for Walk-Out Assistants and ground handling personnel, from new starters walking the route for the first time to experienced staff refreshing inspection discipline.
Are the walkaround lessons videos to watch?
No. Trainees walk the route themselves and inspect each point up close in VR. Guided instruction adds voice guidance and visual highlighting at every inspection point, then practice and assessment remove that support so trainees judge each point on their own.
How are trainees assessed?
The assessment has trainees walk the counter-clockwise route without guidance on an aircraft with faults planted at some but not all inspection points. They commit a verdict at each point and get no feedback until the assessment is submitted. Scoring covers the thoroughness of the inspection, the accuracy of every call, and the discipline of the walkaround itself.
How does the practice lesson differ from the assessment?
Practice plants faults at randomized points and in greater numbers than a real aircraft would carry, with corrective feedback as trainees go. It builds the judgment to tell a genuine fault from normal wear or from an opening that is meant to sit open, and to report when unsure. The assessment removes the feedback and scores the result.
Is the walkaround training aligned with IATA standards?
Yes. The course was developed in alignment with IATA AHM 1110, Edition 46 and IATA IGOM, Edition 14, and is classified as initial training.
