Description
This assessment verifies that the trainee can lead a complete aircraft arrival onto the stand without guidance. An arriving A320 taxis in and every signal, and the moment to give it, is the trainee's own call, from identifying the gate to securing the aircraft once it is parked. The attempt is scored against six criteria that all have to be passed, and a critical error ends it on the spot.

Lesson Procedure
- The trainee stands at the marshaller's position on an empty stand with the wands in hand while an A320 taxis in from the left. No signal is prompted.
- The arrival opens with Identify Gate, shown and held as the aircraft approaches so the flight crew knows this is the correct stand and that it is safe to come in.
- The trainee guides the aircraft along the taxi path onto the stand centerline, well clear of the positions to the left and right.
- The aircraft is slowed down gradually before it is brought to a halt, and is stopped on the stop marking for the A320, straight on the centerline.
- The trainee signals Set Brakes, at which moment stop position and alignment are judged, then signals Chocks Inserted once the colleague has placed the chocks.
- A critical error ends the attempt: the aircraft guided off the intended path, guided into an adjacent stand, or rolled past its parking position. Smaller mistakes fail their criterion without interrupting the arrival.
- Once the aircraft is secured the trainee submits the attempt, which cannot be resumed. The result breaks down each of the six criteria, with a spoken review of every miss. All six are needed to pass.
