Lesson Procedure
- The session begins with an overview of the GPU’s role in ground operations, explaining its importance for powering aircraft systems when engines are off.
- The trainee begins in front of the GPU and can move freely within the defined area. Visual guidance arrows and audio instructions direct them toward specific components.
- Power Cable and Plug: Animation of a colleague demonstrating how to unroll, handle, and stow the power cable.
- Control Panel: Overview of the main operating interface with display and key controls.
- Battery Switch: Identification of the switch that activates or deactivates the unit’s power supply.
- Fuel Tank: Location of the fuel and AdBlue tanks powering the generator.
- Cable Compartment and Chocks: Observation of the secondary compartment used for cable storage or chock placement.
- Drawbar: Introduction to the towing mechanism used for GPU transport.
- After visiting all highlighted locations, the lesson concludes with confirmation that the trainee has reviewed all major GPU elements.
