This lesson covers how to perform a Foreign Object Debris (F.O.D.) inspection on the apron before ramp operations. This builds awareness of common debris types and emphasizes the importance of removing all objects that could endanger aircraft or personnel.

Lesson Procedure
- The trainee begins at the ERA and is instructed to walk the entire zone to locate F.O.D. items.
- Each item that is identified by the trainee, such as a bolt, tie-down ring, or plastic debris, is highlighted for pickup and added to the trainee’s inventory for secure handling.
- Once all debris has been collected, the trainee proceeds to the F.O.D. bin and disposes of the items.
- The lesson concludes when all debris has been cleared and confirmed, signaling a safe, obstruction-free apron.
