Description

In this lesson the correct behavior during aircraft arrival is taught. Trainees learn to maintain a safe distance, recognize hazard indicators, and follow ground crew instructions to ensure personal safety and smooth ramp operations.

Lesson Overview

  1. 1Observation of aircraft arrival from the designated safe zone
  2. 2Maintaining position behind the safety line until clearance is given
  3. 3Recognition of beacon lights as indicators of active engines
  4. 4Coordination with the Ramp Agent and supervisor for safe approach timing

Skills Acquired

  • Maintain safe positioning throughout aircraft arrival
  • Identify active engine status
  • Comply with Ramp Agent and supervisor instructions for coordinated ground safety

Lesson Procedure

  • The trainee begins behind the safety line, observing the approaching aircraft and recognizing this boundary as the critical no-entry zone during arrivals.
  • As the aircraft nears, visual and audio cues highlight the beacon lights, reinforcing that engines are active and movement beyond the line would pose serious danger.
  • The trainee monitors the aircraft’s taxi and final stop, maintaining awareness of engine noise, jet blast direction, and ground crew activity while remaining stationary.
  • Once the aircraft has fully stopped and the Ramp Agent gives clearance, the trainee confirms safe conditions before concluding the lesson with all arrival safety steps correctly followed.

Safety Scenarios & Learnings

Learning Outcome

Triggers an emergency warning and lesson restart, reinforcing strict no-entry safety rules.
