Description

This lesson trains the safe removal of chocks and cones from around an aircraft before departure. Trainees learn the correct sequence and proper handling to clear the area for pushback.

Lesson Procedure

  • The trainee is briefed on the correct sequence: main gear chocks, cones, then nose gear chocks.
  • Main gear chocks are removed, pocketed, and placed in the storage pile outside the ERA.
  • Safety cones are collected and stacked in their designated storage area outside the ERA.
  • Once the pushback tractor is attached, nose gear chocks are removed and returned to storage outside the ERA.
  • The lesson concludes when all items are cleared and the aircraft area is safe for departure.
