Description

This lesson continues the chocking procedure from Part 1 by securing the aircraft’s main landing gear wheels. Trainees learn to place and align chocks on both sides of the main gear while maintaining safe positioning and awareness around the aircraft.

Lesson Overview

  1. 1Collecting and handling of chocks for main gear use
  2. 2Safe movement toward the main landing gear area
  3. 3Placement of chocks on both sides of each main wheel

Skills Acquired

  • Position chocks correctly at the main wheels
  • Ensureing safe walking paths, incl. avoiding walking under the aircraft fuselage
  • Verify all wheels are properly secured before clearance

Lesson Procedure

  • The trainee collects four chocks from the designated storage area and transports them to the main landing gear.
  • Approaching the aircraft from the side, the trainee maintains safe distance from the undercarriage and avoids restricted areas beneath the fuselage.
  • Each main wheel is secured by placing one chock in front and one behind, ensuring full tire contact and correct alignment.
  • Once all chocks are positioned, the system confirms proper placement and the trainee steps back to the safe zone to complete the procedure.
