Description

Introduces trainees to all cabin controls and indicator lights of the belt loader. This lesson builds familiarity with the dashboard layout, control zones, and the function of each switch, light, and pedal critical to safe and confident operation.

Lesson Procedure

  • The trainee begins inside the belt loader cabin, where voice-overs introduce the dashboard and its importance for safe operation.
  • The dashboard is divided into zones, each explored interactively:
    • Basic Vehicle Indicators & Instruments: Hour meter, fuel gauge, and coolant temperature gauge
    • Basic Vehicle Instruments: Covers key switches for headlamps, windshield wipers, cabin fan, warning flashers and emergency stop
    • Indicator Lights & Utility Panel: Engine oil pressure, battery charge, brake system, bulb failure, and anti-collision assistance
    • Conveyor Belt Controls Cluster: Belt elevation buttons, deadman switch, and anti-collision system
    • Engine Access & Ignition: PIN keypad and main ignition switch
    • Vehicle Driving Controls: Parking brake control, driving direction joystick
    • Foot Pedals: Accelerator and brake pedals
  • The lesson concludes with a short recap. A success message confirms completion and readiness for operational training.
